Chapter 4 of 14, first quire
Modelo 790 código 012: the fee, word by word
You complete Modelo 790 código 012 online, in the sede electrónica of the Policía Nacional, then pay it, at a bank or online, before your appointment day: no money changes hands at the counter. Tasa means fee. Modelo 790 is the State’s form for paying fees, and código 012 is its version for the police procedures of foreigners. The form works out the amount for the procedure you choose, which is why this chapter quotes no figure.
The procedure, in Spanish and in English
En castellano
Tasa modelo 790 código 012
In plain English
The State’s fee form for foreigners’ police procedures: you complete it, pay it, then show the proof.
- Forms
- Modelo 790 código 012
- Where
- Paid at a bank (entidad colaboradora) or online, before the appointment
- Carry
- All printed copies (ejemplares) of the form
- Copy stamped by the bank, or the justificante de pago from paying online
- The passport or NIE whose number you typed
Five words on the form
- Tasa: a fee paid to the State
- Modelo 790: the standard form for paying a State fee
- Código 012: the version for foreigners’ police procedures (NIE, certificates, cards)
- Casilla: a small box; you tick the one that names your procedure
- Entidad colaboradora: a bank that collects State fees
Completing it
You fill the form in on the website of the Policía Nacional (its sede electrónica, or online office): your NIE or passport number, your name and your address, then a tick in the casilla for your procedure. Type your name as your passport shows it, and the same document number you gave on the screens of the cita previa.
The printed form has several copies: one for you (ejemplar para el interesado), one for the bank (ejemplar para la entidad colaboradora) and one for the administration (ejemplar para la Administración). Bring them all to the bank if you pay there. A NIE on form EX-15, a green certificate, a TIE card: each has a casilla of its own.
Paying, at a bank or online
You can pay at a bank that acts as an entidad colaboradora, which stamps your copies, or pay online. Either way, the proof goes into your folder: the stamped copy, or the online receipt (justificante de pago).
Mistakes that send people home
- The wrong casilla: a fee for a card is not a fee for a certificate
- A name or number that differs from your passport
- A form printed but never paid: printing is not paying
- Proof left at home: no proof, no procedure
- A couple paying once: every applicant needs a separate payment
In Toledo, in particular
At Ronda de Buenavista 57, as at the Comisaría de Talavera de la Reina on Calle Carlos Barral, the 790-012 travels in the same folder as your EX form. Clip the form and the proof of payment together, so that the officer sees both at once.
Questions on this chapter
Do I pay at Ronda de Buenavista 57?
No. You pay before you go, at a bank or online, and you bring the proof.
Which casilla is mine?
The one that names your procedure. If two seem to fit, write to us before you pay.
Is the booking itself paid?
No, booking is free. The 790-012 is the price of the procedure itself.
Is our own fee part of the tasa?
No. The tasa goes to the State. Any help we give is separate, and optional.
