Chapter 13 of 14, third quire
Extranjería Toledo: the two offices at Ronda de Buenavista 57
Extranjería in Toledo is one building, Ronda de Buenavista 57, 45071 Toledo, with two separate offices in it: the Policía Nacional’s unit for foreigners, which deals with numbers, certificates and cards, and the Oficina de Extranjería, which decides on permits. Both work only by cita previa, and the only hours published are Monday to Friday, 9:00 until 14:00. People in Toledo say “extranjería” for anything about foreigners’ papers; the Oficina belongs to the Delegación del Gobierno, the State’s representation in Castilla-La Mancha.

The police side: the Oficina de Extranjeros

The government side: Sede 1, and the Delegación’s list
The Delegación del Gobierno’s page names the second office “Sede 1. Oficina de Extranjería en Toledo”, at the same address. It handles applications for residence and work authorisations. Its guide to procedures sets one rule of entry: only the applicant may go in, always with a cita previa in their own name. Applications go online through MERCURIO, the government’s platform, or in person with a cita previa; the page accepts no other channel. Gestores administrativos (licensed administrative agents), lawyers and graduados sociales (advisers in labour law) may also file online.
For questions, the page points to the Ministry’s information sheets (hojas informativas), an online check of the state of your file, a written question box (buzón de consultas de extranjería), or an in-person cita previa for INFORMACIÓN.
Under the heading “Trámites competencia del Cuerpo Nacional de Policía”, procedures that belong to the national police, the same page lists the police procedures of its Toledo office, “siempre con cita previa”. Among them: the NIE, the EU certificate, the fingerprints for a card and its collection, return authorisations, the Withdrawal Agreement card for British citizens, the card for people from Ukraine, and asylum. The page does not repeat the address beside them; policia.es places the police unit at number 57. Our chapter on the cita previa gives every name in Spanish, with its translation.
Hours, and the phone that is not there
The only hours published are those of the Oficina de Extranjería: Monday to Friday, 9:00 until 14:00. policia.es gives no hours for the police unit, and its phone and fax fields for the unit are empty. The Delegación’s page gives a fax number for the Oficina de Extranjería, but no phone, and its guide to procedures says there is no information service by telephone.
In practice, plan your day around the hour on your booking. Written questions go through the buzón de consultas, or to us.
The other police office: Talavera de la Reina
In the whole province, policia.es lists only one other police office for foreigners: the Comisaría de Talavera de la Reina, Calle Carlos Barral 2, 45600 Talavera de la Reina. Its list is shorter: certificados y asignación de NIE, régimen comunitario, expedición TIE, cartas de invitación and informes de nacionalidad. The phone of its foreigners’ unit is 925 721 757. No hours are given.
policia.es marks the station as accessible in three ways: people with reduced mobility can reach it, sign-language interpreting is offered through a video link, and it has hearing loops.
Addresses that are not the foreigners’ office
policia.es lists no foreigners’ unit in Illescas, Seseña, Ocaña or Quintanar de la Orden. In Toledo it also lists the Jefatura Superior de Policía de Castilla-La Mancha, the regional police headquarters on Avenida de Portugal, with no foreigners’ procedures on its list. On the same avenue, at number 9, the Ayuntamiento’s Oficina de Buenavista is a town hall office: it deals with registration on the padrón, not with foreigners’ papers.
Finding your way to number 57
No official page we read explains how to reach Ronda de Buenavista 57 by bus or train, and we will not guess a line or a stop. Plan your route from the address on your booking, and arrive early enough to find the right entrance.
