Questions from EU, EEA and Swiss citizens
What Europeans moving to Toledo ask most: the number, the green certificate, the cita previa and the fee, answered in plain English.
Certificado de registro UE Toledo: where is it issued?
The Delegación del Gobierno lists it among the police procedures of its office at Ronda de Buenavista 57, always by cita previa, and policia.es lists EU registration at the Comisaría de Talavera de la Reina too. Book for the province of Toledo; the confirmation names the office.
I am Irish. Does Brexit change anything for me?
No. Ireland is in the European Union. Like any EU citizen, you register on form EX-18 and are given the green certificate.
I teach in a school in Toledo on a European passport. Which category do I choose on the EX-18?
The one your papers support. With a work contract, you register as an employee. If your post gives you another kind of letter, show it to us before you book.
My NIE comes from a flat I bought years ago. Does registration change it?
No. The certificate prints the number you already hold.
When and where do I pay the 790-012?
Before the day of the appointment: at a bank (entidad colaboradora) or online. Then bring the stamped copy or the online receipt.
Do I need a padrón certificate?
Officers often want one, and no other paper proves your address as simply. Register at your own town hall first; in the city, that is the Ayuntamiento de Toledo.
