• Which EX form is yours (15, 17, 18 or 19)
• The printed or saved confirmation, on the day

The screens, in order

The booking pages are in Spanish. Each screen asks one thing. Know your form before you start: form EX-15 for the number alone, form EX-18 for the EU certificate, EX-17 for the TIE.

• Provincia (province): choose Toledo, whether you live in the city, in Talavera de la Reina or in Seseña
• Trámite (procedure): the names are translated below
• Datos personales (your details): document type and number, full name, nationality; type them exactly as your passport or NIE shows them
• Oficina (office): when the system offers more than one, choose one
• Fecha y hora (date and time): take a slot that suits you
• Confirmación (confirmation): save it, print it or take a screenshot

The police procedures, as the Delegación names them

These are the names on the Delegación del Gobierno’s page for Toledo, each with its meaning and its form. When we checked, the booking screens for the province could not be read, so a name there may be worded a little differently. Pick the one that matches your form.

• POLICIA-ASIGNACIÓN DE NIE: a NIE on its own (form EX-15)
• POLICIA-CERTIFICADO DE REGISTRO DE CIUDADANO DE LA U.E.: registering as a European resident, the green certificate (form EX-18)
• POLICIA-CERTIFICADOS (DE RESIDENCIA, DE NO RESIDENCIA Y DE CONCORDANCIA): certificates that state you are resident or not, or that two document numbers belong to the same person
• POLICIA-TOMA DE HUELLAS (EXPEDICIÓN DE TARJETA) Y RENOVACIÓN DE TARJETA DE LARGA DURACIÓN: fingerprints so that a TIE card can be made, and renewal of a long-term residence card (form EX-17)
• POLICIA-RECOGIDA DE TARJETA DE IDENTIDAD DE EXTRANJERO (TIE): collecting the card once it is ready

The other office in the building

The Oficina de Extranjería en Toledo, at the same address, decides on authorisations to live and work. Its guide to procedures says only the applicant may go in, always with a cita previa in their own name. It also offers a cita previa for INFORMACIÓN, to ask questions in person. Applications can instead be filed online through MERCURIO, the government’s platform for immigration files.

The Delegación labels its booking link “Cita previa: Presentación de Solicitudes // Huellas-Certificado U.E.”, which reads in English as “submitting applications // fingerprints and EU certificate”.

Reading your confirmation

The confirmation is a short document, in Spanish. Read each line before the day; our commentary takes one confirmation, line by line. Booking is free: the State fee on the 790-012 is paid apart, before the day.

• Número de justificante: the booking reference. Keep it; you need it to cancel
• Trámite: the procedure. Check it is the one for your form
• Oficina and dirección: the office and its address, Ronda de Buenavista 57 or Calle Carlos Barral 2 in Talavera de la Reina
• Fecha and hora: the day and the time
• Your name and document number, as you typed them. The officer compares them with your passport

When the screen has no dates

The message “no hay citas disponibles” means “no appointments available”. Try again on other days and at other times of day. Do not book a procedure that is not yours just to get a date: at the counter, the officer works on the procedure printed on the confirmation, not on another one.

If you cannot go, cancel on the same website (anular cita) with your booking reference. The slot then goes to someone else, and you can book again.

In Toledo, in particular

Whether you live in the Casco Histórico, in Talavera de la Reina or in Seseña, you choose Toledo as the province. policia.es lists only two police offices for foreigners in it: Ronda de Buenavista 57 in Toledo, and Calle Carlos Barral 2 in Talavera de la Reina. Talavera lists fewer procedures, so the system will not offer it for every booking.
