Who writes NIE Toledo, and how
NIE Toledo translates Spanish paperwork for foreigners in Toledo and its province: the NIE, the TIE, the padrón and the EU registration certificate, first explained in plain English, then prepared with you. It is an independent private service.
A translator keeps the meaning exact while the language changes. We do the same with Spanish administration. Each procedure has an official Spanish name, a form, a fee and an office. We set them beside what they mean in practice, so that you can act on them without guessing.
Our part is preparation: choosing the procedure, completing the EX form and the 790-012 with you, looking for a cita previa in the province of Toledo, and checking the folder before the day. Legal, tax and property questions belong to other professionals; when yours is one of them, we tell you which kind of adviser to look for.
We are independent of the Policía Nacional, of the Oficina de Extranjería and the government office that runs it, and of every ayuntamiento in the province. Our chapters are not official texts. Every procedure in them is open to you without us: go to the administration directly; you then pay the official fees and nothing else.
What the codex holds to
- Spanish first, then plain English
- Every term appears as the official pages write it, then in simple English. You learn the word you will hear at the counter, and what it asks you to do.
- One building, read with care
- In Toledo the police and the Oficina de Extranjería share Ronda de Buenavista 57. Before you book, we tell you which of the two your procedure belongs to, and what each one expects.
- Written for every reader of English
- Many of our readers learned English as a second or third language. We use short sentences, common words and no idioms, so that the meaning stays exact.
- Private, and clear about it
- This is a private service with no link to any public office. Decisions belong to the police, the Oficina de Extranjería and the town halls; your preparation belongs to us. Some questions call for a lawyer or a tax adviser, and we name them as such.
What readers come to us for
- A teaching post, or a place as a language assistant
- Enrolment on a university course
- A first job contract in the province or in Madrid
- A rented flat in Santa Bárbara, Palomarejos or Buenavista
- The escritura of a house in Bargas or Olías del Rey
- A Spanish bank account in your own name
- The green certificate of a European resident
- A toma de huellas for a first TIE
Not an office of the State
NIE Toledo is run privately. Neither the Policía Nacional nor the Toledo Oficina de Extranjería, neither the Delegación del Gobierno nor any ayuntamiento runs it or endorses it, and their decisions and calendars are not ours to change. Our chapters inform; they are not legal advice. Nothing obliges you to use us: the administration deals with you directly, for the official fees alone.
